ADVISOR

Dr Samir Mahmoud is a key advisor to RSOTA with his in-depth knowledge of the traditional Islamic Guilds. Currently, he is the Academic Director of Usul Academy. He has a BA (Hons) in Anthropology & Politics with a focus on multicultural theory and comparative religion, and an MA in Architectural History, Theory & Urban Design with a focus on the traditional townscape from the University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia. He also holds an MPhil in Theology & Religious Studies with a focus on comparative philosophy and aesthetics. He completed a PhD in Islamic Studies from the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Dr. Timothy Winter (Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad).

Peter Gould serves as a pivotal advisor to the RSOTA collective, bringing over two decades of experience with heavyweights like Apple, Google, and the United Nations. His creative genius not only drives our projects but also positions us as a trusted enterprise committed to community service. As the founder of Gould Studio, he oversees a variety of successful creative ventures, most notably the Tales of Khayyal Comic Book Series.

ART DIRECTOR

Nour serves as the leader of the Arts Guild, where she uses her artistic prowess to connect with and curate the Arts Guild, a community platform that joins experienced Muslim artists. Their collective aim is to share traditional artistic knowledge, enriching our community's cultural and spiritual tapestry. In her own art, she seamlessly blends her love for spirituality and science into compelling art pieces. Her unique approach allows her to create works that resonate on multiple levels.

MUSICAL DIRECTOR

Tarik leads the Music Guild with a background spanning over 25 years in music, Tarik is a virtuoso, proficient in the piano, kanun, guitar, and oud. In addition to his training, he has specialised knowledge in the ancient Maqams—musical scales historically employed by the Ottomans for their therapeutic properties and emotional benefits. As a performer with the Three Rivers Ensemble and the Brandenburg Orchestra, he brings unparalleled artistry and professionalism to his role.

SUSTAINABILITY DIRECTOR

As the leader of the Sustainability Guild, Iman is most at home in her community garden, where she nurtures not just plants but also a thriving ecosystem of worms. With a wealth of experience in sustainability, she serves as a guide for those looking to embody the role of a responsible vicegerent on Earth. Iman offers actionable insights for creating self-sufficient, low-impact, and minimally toxic environments that is grounded in serving Allah and taking care of His creations.

SUNNAH SPORTS DIRECTOR

As the leader of the Sunnah Sports Guild, Ahmed is also the founder of Maydaan Archery. With deep knowledge of Islamic archery and other sports practiced by the Prophet, his companions, and other Prophets in Islam, Ahmed brings a unique blend of spirit and soul to physical sport. His mission is to revive the inherent spirituality in traditional sports like archery, making them not just physical exercises but also spiritual practices.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM MANAGER

With over ten years in the educational sector, Sevda Itil excels as our Education Program Manager. She's also a Permanent Teacher with the Department of Education and has previously held leadership roles such as Head of Creative Arts and Assistant Principal. Driven by her faith, a love for the arts, and a commitment to child education, Sevda focuses on building a community that leaves a lasting, faith-based legacy, while fostering creativity in children.

Chloe boasts more than ten years of operational leadership experience in the early childhood education sector. As Operational Manager, Chloe ensures that all processes run smoothly and efficiently. With a keen eye for detail and a knack for problem-solving, she excels at creating streamlined systems that allow the team to focus on their core tasks. Her leadership is pivotal in bringing strategic goals to fruition, making her an invaluable asset to our team
