Ustadh Yusuf Zarb is a professional musician, performer, and music educator based in Sydney, Australia, with a passion for sharing the spiritual and cultural richness of traditional Middle Eastern music.
With years of experience as a multi-instrumentalist and music teacher, Yusuf currently teaches at Mercy College Chatswood and Lane Cove Public School, where he nurtures a love of music in students of all ages and backgrounds.
Yusuf’s journey with the ney, began through his deep appreciation of the poetry and teachings of mystics like Mevlana Rumi and Yunus Emre. Drawn to the ney’s breath-like sound and spiritual symbolism, he has dedicated himself to mastering this ancient instrument and passing on its beauty to others.
Known for his gentle teaching style and patient approach, Yusuf creates a space where students can not only learn technique but also experience the meditative and expressive power of the ney. His mission is to guide others in discovering the inner stillness, discipline, and joy that comes with playing this sacred instrument.
